*grins*

So, Vegas was a *blast*!

I'm still tickled. I got a picture with Cord McCoy, Austin Meier, Greg Potter.

Hell, I had someone propose to me - he liked the idea of PBR girls.

The fanzone was, just like always, a huge hoot - cowboys, mechanical bulls, western clothes, hats, cowboys, music, booze, cowboys.

Did I mention the cowboys?

Justin McBride wins

The PBR Champion is Justin McBride. Woo. I feel kind bad for Guilherme coming in 2nd 3 years in a row, but he looked pretty happy, pretty settled about it, and Justin really worked this season. I'm betting on Guilherme next year, as he's simply the most consistent rider around.

But this year is all about Justin McBride. 8 regular season wins. Tons of 90+ rides. He bucked off his first three bulls at the finals and still ended up 5th in the aggregate.

I would say that JB Mauney had a good season, but honestly, I have nothing nice to say about him. ;)

PBR finals weekend one

So, Shawn and I went to Vegas for the first weekend of the PBR finals.

We stayed at the Mandalay Bay, where the event was being held, and let me tell you, that's the way to live. The room was nice, the food only so so this year, but the wandering cowboy sightings? Couldn't be beat.

We went to the meet and greet on Saturday morning. Oh, yes, we did. There is still no greater joy than 45 bullriders, bright and early in the morning, signing autographs and chatting and just sitting about being studs. Ms. Shawn got he picture with Cord McCoy and remained coherent. I got a hug from Adriano and nearly didn't remain coherent.

Now, about the riding. Or not, as the case may be.

Chris Shivers didn't manage a ride, so Shawn's streak of not seeing him ride continues.

Paulo Crimber rode 2. Brian Canter won round 3. Renato Nunes won round one, and took a stomping in round 3. Guliherme Marchi won round 2, and was the first man to ride 3. Kody Lostroh leads the average, though.

My boy, Mike White, got one ride. So did Tater Porter, broken arm and all. Altogether, there were 32 qualified rides.

There was much sitting near the bullriders at restaurants and in the casinos and not jumping out and nearly attacking them like a lot of folks did. We may be obsessive, but we're polite ;)

Now for my two complaints.

Justin. Oh, Justin McBride, where were you. I hate to say it, but the PBR is starting to seem more and more like on, professional wrestling than a real sport. Justin literally threw himself off he second round bull, and I'm sorry, I don't care if they want more drama in their finals. I wanted to see Justin ride.

He didn't.

Worse than that, though, was JB Mauney. Oh, the boy can ride. No doubt. But he's foul. I won't apologize for saying it. Anyone who snaps and cusses at a waiter, after sitting in a restaurant for an hour and cussing and spewing misogynistic bullshit while trying to impress a couple of buckle bunnies? Well, let's just say that I really wanted to ask him if his momma didn't raise him better than that. I certainly don't feel bad rooting against him now like I did. Now I feel damned justified.
