Dallas PBR Dickies Invitational

oh my God, yall!

We headed over to Dallas on Saturday, and man did we stay where the cowboys were! Just at the hotel we spotted Tater Porter, Flint and the bullfighters, Jared Farley, Sean Willingham, Ty Murray, my favorite boy, Mike White, Kasey Hayes and a host of others. Why yes, we were some of the folks who sat in the lobby and watched them come and go. (No, we weren't the only ones, so there)

We headed to the arena a little early and wandered, got some fun postcards and keychains and a program, and settled in for day one.

There were only ten qualified rides on Saturday. o.O We had damned good seats, right above the bucking chutes, maybe 20 rows up, so we were tickled as anything. Our big happy was that Justin McBride rode! You know we're fans of that cowboy, right? They did a nice tribute to Jim Shoulders, which made us sniffle. Rest easy, cowboy. Good horses to ride.

Sunday we did some more cowboy watching, then headed out. Sunday was just as bad for most of the cowboys, with only a handful of riders getting qualified rides. All in all, Paulo Crimber, Sean Willingham, Michael Riggs and Matt Bohon had the best score totals, not necessiarily in that order.

But it was Justin's day . He was the only man to cover 3 bulls, and he did it with style. He didn't take first in any of the go-rounds, but he sure took the event, and he made history. Seven single event wins in one season, beating Cody Hart's record.

And we got to see it.

Hot damn.

We stayed until Monday morning, and man, by then we were the minority again, the comfotable feelin of being surrounded by cowboys and fans gone and the business travelers back.

But it sure was fun to play pool Sunday night and have some of the riders at the next table ;)

And let me tell you, Flint Rasmussen has amazing hearing. He can hear compliments about his bckside down an entire hotel corridor ;)
