Rodeo Houston Opening Night
So, we put on our boots and headed down to Houston on Tuesday, February 27 for the opening night of Rodeo Houston. We wandered the trade and stock show, ate some of the spiciest smoked sausage in the world, admired the sparkly pink hats, and then went to watch some rodeo action.
They started with the tie down roping (which just threw off my whole rhythm, don't you know). Here were the one night event winners:
Tie Down Roping - Boe Brown, score 9.2
Bareback Bronc Riding - Ryan Gray 81.5
Team Roping - Derick Fleming and Jett Hillman 5.0
Saddle Bronc Riding - Cody DeMers 80 points
Steer Wrestling - Clayton Hass 4.6
Barrel Racing - Reggie Crosby - I missed her time, though, as I was elbow deep in taquitos and icy cold drinks
Bull Riding - JW Harris 81.5
Then? We got to see George Strait. Oh, yeah, King George, folks. He sounded good, looked amazing, and since I was on the front row I got to shake his hand. Is there anything better in the world than that man singing Amarillo by Morning?
I don't think so...
